Leron Willis Mason's Obituary
“Honey Do” 90, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was born in Tampa, Florida and divided his time between Tampa and Inglis, Florida.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years Virginia Neel Mason; son Randall Mason (Susan) of Apollo Beach, Fl; daughter Kathyrn Harrison (Tom) of Lakeland; grandchildren Scott Gassage (Nicole), Jeff Mason, April Bridgewater (Matt), Brandon Guindon, Stephanie Taylor (Joshua), Randy Harrison, Christy Silas; great-grandchildren Chloe Mason, Airiana Bridgewater, Dylan Harrison, Samantha Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
Leron served in World War II. He was with the 2nd Marine Division and saw action in Saipan, Tinian, Marianas, Okinawa, and the occupation of Japan. He received many battlefield citations.
Leron retired from Cargill Corporation after 40 years of service. His life was hunting with all his friends in the Gulf Hammock Management area and his camp, the Rocking M. He was a devoted husband and loving father.
A visitation will be held 2pm on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 US Highway 301 N., Thonotosassa, FL with a funeral service at 3pm and the interment to follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
