Lena Roseann Stanley's Obituary
Lena Roseann Stanley “Annie”, 77, of Spout Spring, VA, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at her residence. She was the wife of John Wayne Stanley, Sr.
Born in Akron, Ohio on April 29, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Reed Frank Rhodes, Jr., and Hilda Rosetta Cox Rhodes. In 1959 she moved to Tampa, FL. She was a lifelong Baptist, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Gospelettes singing group. Annie had a love for horses especially her thoroughbred Ohio Rose “Rosie”. In 2006 she retired as a microbiologist technician from Singleton Seafood in Tampa, FL, and moved to Appomattox the same year.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Connie Sue Reynolds and husband, James of Florida, John Wayne Stanley, Jr., and Melissa Kaye Maxwell and husband, Jamie both of Appomattox; seven grandchildren, Leah Martin, Courtney Martin, Samantha Reynolds, Ashleigh Maxwell, Madison Stepp and husband, Joshua, Kaylee Maxwell, and Rachel Delgado and husband, Jesus; two great-grandchildren, Robert Miller, and Karter Maxwell; and numerous cousins, including Vickie Stanley, and Gary Miller both of Florida.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Monday, March 20, 2023, at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Watson officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Thonotosassa, FL. Burial will take place at 2 pm, Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, FL.
