Laura Stillie-Brown, 97 years of age, passed away on Friday, August 15th, 2025, at Hunt Trace Assisted Living Facility. Peacefully in her sleep.
Laura was born on August 2nd, 1928, in Astoria NY to the late James McGill (father) and Florence Schlegel (mother)parents she removed herself from at the young age of 16.
Laura married the late Robert Stillie, two children were born from this union, Bobby and Linda. Laura found her Soulmate in February 1958, married the late Fredrick J Brown and they spent 53 Wonderful years together. They enjoyed Bowling going to Dances. Being with friends. Laura was always the Photographer; she Loved taking pictures. Laura worked as a Switch Board Operator for many years with the NY Telephone Company. She talked about this job and loved it. She worked many years in the Bank as an Operator. She enjoyed working as a temp, so as not to be tied down to any one job.
Laura is survived by two children, son; Robert J Stillie (had no last words to say), daughter; Linda J Wintjen. Goddaughter; Leona Punzi. 4 Grandchildren, Grandson; Jason R Boquer-Wintjen and wife Kelly M Boquer-Wintjen, Granddaughter; Theresa D Walker, and husband James L Walker. Grandson Joey W Wintjen. Granddaughter Monica Brown. 10 Amazing Great Grandchildren; Maile Boquer-Wintjen, Justin Boquer- Wintjen, Tyree McGowan-Wintjen, Bryannah Ducey, Sierra Sheldon, Riaya Wintjen, Cassidy Walker, Madison Walker, Raven Walker, Chase Walker. 3 Great - Great Grandchildren. Many Amazing Family Friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for 12 pm on August 29, family will receive guests beginning at 11am, at Sunset Memory Gardens 11005 US-301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592. Flowers, Donations and Condolences may be offered at 11005 US-301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592
