Khali Francis Peñón's Obituary
On Wednesday morning, May 13, 2026, our beloved Khali Francis Peñón, age 14, passed away following a tragic accident in which he was struck by a truck while riding his bicycle on Monday, May 11, 2026. His passing has left a profound ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Khali’s life was deeply rooted in his faith, which shaped his character, his choices, and the way he loved others. At just 10 years old, he made the personal decision to be baptized, declaring his love for Jesus with sincerity beyond his years. At age 14, shortly before his passing, Khali chose to be baptized again, reaffirming his commitment to God with a mature and heartfelt understanding of what that meant.
He loved worship music, often filling his home with melodies that lifted his spirit and everyone else’s. One of his proudest moments was playing violin in a worship concert, where he performed not for applause, but because he wanted to play music for God. His worship was pure, joyful, and deeply personal.
Khali was also well‑versed in scripture, often quoting verses that encouraged him and sharing them with others when they needed comfort or strength. His faith was not something he kept to himself — it was something he lived, something he shared, and something that guided him every day.
Khali was an extraordinary son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, teammate, and friend. He carried a bright smile, a full‑of‑life spirit, and a warmth that made every room lighter the moment he walked in. His joyful energy and natural kindness touched not only his family but his entire community.
A proud member of the Plant City Dolphins, Khali was a dedicated and uplifting teammate whose encouragement and laughter lifted everyone around him. His talents extended far beyond the field — Khali was a gifted violinist, earning a place in the 2025 All County Orchestra, a distinction that reflected both his discipline and his love for music.
Academically, Khali was exceptional. As a scholar at Plant City High School, he excelled in dual enrollment, completing a full semester of college coursework during his 9th‑grade year. His future was bright, and his determination inspired everyone who watched him grow.
Khali loved the simple joys of life — swimming in the pool, sharing pizzas, and telling jokes to anyone he could make laugh. He had a big, loving heart and made sure the people he cared about knew how deeply he valued them. His humor, compassion, and beautiful soul made him unforgettable.
Khali is survived by his loving parents, Francis R. Peñón and Sonia Medina‑Peñón; his siblings Mia, Elijah, Sonae, Dominic, Isabella, and Gabriela; his Nana, Wela, and Great‑Grandmother; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Khali’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, talent, faith, and purpose. His impact will continue to live on in the people he touched and the joy he brought into the world.
We love you, Khali Francis Peñón.
Forever in our hearts.
