Juel Vernon Ayers Jr's Obituary
Juel Vernon Ayers, Jr., affectionately known as Jay, passed away on June 21, 2024, in
Brandon, FL at the age of 74. Born on April 15, 1950, in Jacksonville, FL, Jay was a cherished
figure in his family and beloved by many.
Jay is celebrated for being an exceptional father and grandfather. He was deeply committed to
his family, never missing an opportunity to support his grandchildren in all their endeavors. His
presence at their events was a source of great joy and pride. His greatest joy was to be called
“PAPA”.
Jay was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Tina Ayers; his mother, Virginia Parrish; his
father, Juel Ayers Sr.; and his brother, Fred Ayers. He leaves behind his loving children, Annie
Harris (Steven) and Ernie Ayers (Tracy), along with his adored grandchildren, Kaden, Kaleigh,
Zachary, Maxwell, Emilee, and Sailor who will miss him profoundly. He is survived by his sisters
Vernell Langford(Norman) and Virginia Calhoun. He also had many nieces, nephews, and
cousins whom he loved dearly.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00 AM at Sunset
Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL. The family extends an invitation to friends and
community members to join in celebrating Jay’s life.
