In Loving Memory of Joyce Toledo
Joyce Toledo, 88, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026.
Joyce was born on June 24, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Grace Beck. At the age of 12, she moved to Tampa, Florida with her parents, where she attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and later graduated from Hillsborough High School.
During her school years, Joyce met the love of her life, Fabio Toledo. The two fell deeply in love and built a wonderful life together, raising six children, fourteen grandchildren, and multiple great-grandchildren. Their marriage was a testament to love, devotion, and family values.
Joyce dedicated many years to being a homemaker, lovingly raising her children and creating a warm and welcoming home. Once her youngest child was in school, she returned to her studies, earned her 220 Insurance License, and took over Beck Insurance, the family business founded by her father after the family settled in Florida. She successfully operated the business for many years.
A devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Joyce volunteered countless hours and took great pride in serving her church community. She was known for her kindness, generosity, unwavering loyalty to her family, and her belief that family was the most important gift in life.
Joyce is survived by her children: Kenneth Toledo (Alina), Richard Toledo, Gary Toledo (DeeAnn), Carol Toledo, and Grace Fitzgerald (Tom). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Alexis, Jenna, Ryan, Sarah, Christopher, Jordan, Laura, Matthew, Tyler, Ashley, Andrew, Michael, Peter, and Josh, as well as multiple great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Bud Beck, and her sister, Janice Peel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fabio Toledo; her parents, Grace and Charles Beck; her brother, Gilbert Beck; her daughter, Lori Finkbeiner; her grandson, Adam Scalzo; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Scalzo.
Those who knew Joyce will remember her loving spirit and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family. Her home was always open to those in need of a place to stay, a warm meal, or simply someone to talk to. She enjoyed visiting garage sales and antique stores and took great pride in being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also proud of her German and French heritage.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Joyce's legacy of love, compassion, generosity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
