Cangemi, Joyce B's Obituary
Joyce B. Cangemi, 96, passed away on March 25, 2025. Born July 31,
1928, in Upstate New York to Florence and Leroy Oliver.
Joyce was one of ten siblings and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was married to Sylvester Cangemi for over 70 years, raising four
children together: Suzanne, Melissa, Richard, and Elizabeth. She cherished her grandchildren—Nicholas, Christopher, Amanda, and Victoria—and was recently blessed to meet her great-granddaughter,
Cordelia.
A devoted New York Yankees fan and Catholic, Joyce was known for her bright spirit, sharp
wit, and unwavering faith. She gave back by teaching religious education and was always a
source of light and strength for those around her. Joyce loved a good book, made legendary Sunday sauces, and had a laugh that filled the room. She lived with honesty, humor, and deep love, leaving behind a lasting legacy. Her memory will continue to live through the lives she touched and the love she poured into her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memory
Gardens in Thonotosassa, Florida.
