Jorge Moreno Sr.'s Obituary
Jorge Moreno, Sr., 75, passed away May 5, 2015. He was born July 8, 1939 in Colombia to the late Raimundo and Tomasa (Garcia) Moreno.
At age 21, Jorge moved from Colombia, South America to New York City in 1960. From there he came to Hillsborough County in 1976 and has resided here ever since. He was a warehouse clerk for Honeywell for many years. Jorge was known as the “Panadero” (The Bread Man). It was his ministry to folks at St. Josephs Catholic Church. He also worked part time for the last 10 years for Pastor Terry and Pastor Kent at Peninsular Christian Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Gladys; sons, Jorge Moreno, Jr. of Tampa; and Javier Moreno and his wife Victoria of Tampa; brother, Alberto Moreno and his wife Amelia of New York City; grandchildren, Desiray and Lauren Moreno.
There will be a memorial mass at St. Joseph’s, 3012 W. Cherry Street, Tampa, Florida on Friday May 15 at 2pm followed be a gathering at the home of Jorge and Gladys'.
The internment will be Saturday May 16th at 10am at Sunset Memory Gardens with a reception at the home of his son Javier Moreno. Memories and condolences may be left online at www.sunset-fh.com.
