Jonathon Benjamin Lapp's Obituary
Jonathon Benjamin Lapp, 78, passed away December 7, 2017 peacefully with his family at his side. He was born May 14, 1939 in Uniontown, Ohio to the late Andrew and Clara (Sommers) Lapp. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Sara Weaver.
Jonathon and his family came to Sarasota in 1982 from Minerva, Ohio. He was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church and owned Jonathon Lapp Masonry for over 50 years. He specialized in glass block and stone fireplaces. Mr. Lapp was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and loved gardening. He was a huge Rays fan but his favorite was the Cleveland Indians.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Martha; daughters, Vonnie Weaver and her husband Rob and Jennifer Lapp; son, Randy Lapp and his wife Verneda; sisters, Savilla Coblentz and her husband Henry; Rebecca Day and her husband Jim; Vera Helmuth and her husband John; Martha Lapp; Arlene Yoder and her husband John; and Christine Herd; brother, Loren Lapp and his wife Liz; grandchildren, Dustin Weaver and his wife Ashley; Blake Weaver and his wife Danielle; Yasmine Lapp and Maria Lapp; great grandson, Jensen Weaver.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 10th, 2017 from 3 to 6 pm and Monday from 9 to 10am at Bethel Mennonite Church, 2979 Bethel Lane, Sarasota, Florida 34240. Funeral will begin at 10:00am followed by interment in Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery.
