Jonas M Miller's Obituary
Jonas M. Miller was born in Sugarcreek, Ohio on February 5th, 1939, and passed away on January 16th, 2023, at the age of 83.
Joe was an Army veteran and served his country for 4 years. Joe retired from the Tampa Police Department after putting in 20 years as an Officer of the Law. He was honored the Medal of Valor for saving a life during his tenure. From there, Joe decided to work the U.S Embassy and it was during that time he also received a letter from the US Army thanking him for protecting the President of Kwajalein. Joe also served in Moscow, Helsinki, and Lithuania.
Joe spent the remainder of his life living in Roan Moutain, Tennessee.
He is preceded in death by his parents Monroe Miller, and Alta Miller from temple Terrace FL; a sister Patricia Ashburn from Dade City, Fl; a granddaughter Cassandra Hill and a great grandchild, Levi Baker.
Joe is survived by two daughters: Melissa A. Hill (Billy), and Laura L. Miller, both from Brooksville, Fl. Two grandchildren; Channing Baker from Brooksville, and Kito Johnson from Dunedin, Fl. As well as two great grandchildren; Bryher & Cayden Baker. He is also survived by two sisters: Alice Hinkle (Jim), and Marie Todd (Tom) from Roan Mtn, Tennessee.
A graveside for Joe will be held on January 27th, 2023, at Sunset Memory Gardens followed by a luncheon inside Sunset Funeral Home banquet room.
