Johnnie Earl Richmond, age 86, was born on October 7, 1939, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, and peacefully transitioned on February 20, 2026, in Tampa, Florida.
Johnnie was born to the late Wesley Richmond and Jimmie Richmond. He attended Campbell Junior College and later dedicated over 40 years of faithful service to the GAF Shingles Plant. A hardworking and dependable man, Johnnie took great pride in providing for his family. On January 8, 1960, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Jean Richmond, beginning a lifelong union filled with love, partnership, and devotion.
Johnnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and friend whose life reflected quiet strength, integrity, and compassion. He enjoyed fishing, spending time on his boat, and embracing the peaceful moments of life surrounded by family and friends. Known for his warm spirit and storytelling, Johnny shared wisdom, laughter, and encouragement with everyone he encountered. His steady presence brought comfort and stability, leaving lasting memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parental grandparents John Richmond and Emma Richmond, maternal grandparents Wes Dees and Emma Dees Moore, parents Wesley Richmond and Jimmie Richmond, and his granddaughter, Connetra Mitchell, and great grandson Josiah Haynes
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Bonnie Jean Richmond; his siblings John Richmond, Mary Richmond his children: Alice Temple, Jerome Richmond (Cheryl Richmond), Dwayne Richmond (Dr. Tanika Jackson-Richmond), and Johnnie Keith Richmond (Lisa Adams Richmond). He is also survived by a host of beloved grandchildren and great- grandchildren including: Darryl Temple (Wayneisha), Ambria Temple, Andrea Brown, Malaina Burton, Jovon Washington (Kenneth), Alia Richmond, J'Nai Taylor, Jonneisha World, DuJuan Richmond, Dominic Gaines, Deion Arnold, Delilah Lawrence, Keith Armand Richmond, Aaron Freeman Deshanti Catuey, Denim Davis, Demarion Catuey, Joseph Smith, Ashley Smith, Erica Smith, Alvaski Lewis, Dominic Gaines Jr., Lyric Temple, Ariel Temple, Eariah Temple, Bryson Temple, Harmoni Temple, Jhase Flowers, Jheremiaus Flowers, Jeremy Flowers Jr, Easton Simms, Malorie Simms, Alaina Wright, Alianna Wright, Malia Washington, Kenneth Washington III along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his legacy.
