Jeanette James' Obituary
In loving memory of Jeanette James, 95, who passed away at home in Winter Haven on August 15, 2020.
She was born to the late Calvin and Flossie Bryan on September 9, 1924 in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1942. Jeanette married the late Frank James in 1952 and traveled the world with him during his active duty in the Air Force finally settling in Tampa, FL in 1970 when Frank retired.
Jeanette retired from Hillsborough Schools in 1993 and enjoyed her years of retirement bowling, line dancing, traveling, being active in her church, and helping with her grandchildren.
Those who knew Jeanette will remember her kind, sweet spirit, her generosity and her loving ways. She was the epitome of a good mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren, always being there for them no matter what. Family was everything to Jeanette.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her beloved son Richard, her sisters Peggy Pettit and Lena Cowden and her brothers James Kiker and Willard Kiker.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Branham, her daughter-in-law, Paula James, her granddaughter, April James and her grandson, Lee Branham and his wife Katie, as well as her beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and a graveside service will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m.
