Jean Carolyn Nurse's Obituary
Jean Carolyn “Curlin” Nurse, 74, of Seffner, FL., passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019. She was born September 19, 1944 in Elizabeth City, NC, she was the daughter of the late George F. Lamb and Aletha (Rouson) Lamb.
The couple was part of the mass exodus from the south to the north and they settled in Brooklyn, NY. They begot three sons and two daughters; George Lamb Jr. (Junior), James Clevaland Lamb (JC), Joyce Ernestine Lamb-Daniels (Tennie) all deceased.
The only surviving sibling is Ronald Lamb (Ronnie). Curlin was raised in Brooklyn, NY where she met young, Rufus Peter Nurse and they were joined in holy matrimony in 1962. They gave birth to two daughters, Marion Nurse (Mimi), Carolyn Nurse (Keeta). Curlin was also survived by three grandchildren, Lawrence Elliott Nurse, Nathaniel Lavon Nurse, and Alasha Michelle Willis; as well as three great-grandchildren, Lawrence Nurse Jr., Lavon Sincere Nurse, McKaylah Alise Rose, and expecting another great-grandson upon her demise.
Funeral Service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 North Highway 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592 on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 1pm. Visitation 12-1pm. Graveside Service will follow chapel service at Sunset Memory Gardens at 2pm. Flowers are welcome!
