Jacqueline Louise Jones' Obituary
Jacqueline “Jackie” Louise Jones, 61, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2026, leaving behind a world forever touched by her love, laughter, and light. Born on October 23, 1964, in Tampa, Florida, Jackie grew into the kind of person who made life richer for everyone fortunate enough to know her—a devoted spouse, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of her family.
For 36 years, Jackie dedicated her heart and her work ethic to Piedmont, US Air, and what is now American Airlines. In recent years, she stepped into the role of Safety Coordinator, a position she embraced with passion and pride. She poured herself into making her workplace safer and better for everyone around her. Her commitment extended beyond her job—Jackie was also a proud member of the IAM Union, giving her personal time to advocate for fair and improved working conditions.
Jackie lived life with a spirit that was bold, joyful, and endlessly curious. The outdoors called to her, and she answered with enthusiasm—fishing, boating, camping, ziplining, wave running, horseback riding, and motorcycling were just a few of the adventures she loved. She truly embodied the saying, “There are no strangers here; only friends I haven’t yet met.” Jackie had a gift for connection. She made friends easily, and once she welcomed you into her heart, you were there for life.
Her quick wit, her unforgettable laugh, her warm hugs, and her radiant smile made people feel seen, loved, and at home. She adored her fur kids—KayJay, Jessi Lee, and Tucker—and treasured road trips with them. She found peace in sunsets, joy in beach walks, and comfort in time spent with family and friends.
Jackie is survived by her loving wife of 16 years, Kim Rust; her father, Jack Jones; her sister, Brenda Jones; and her sister-in-law, Freida Chewning. She shared a special and lifelong bond with her cousin, Patricia Jones. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored her, including Roy Floyd, Michael Floyd, Debbie Cimo, Danny, Nina, Belinda, Rachel, and Jannie—each of whom loved her deeply and cherished her vibrant spirit.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Joyce Jones; her uncles Glenn, Donald, Clyde and Minnie, Bobby Floyd; and her grandparents Johnnie and Louise Floyd, Frank Jones, and Stella Bennet.
