Henry C Nesbit's Obituary
Henry C. Nesbit, 82, Ridge manor FL passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018, Born in Richland Florida, he graduated from Zephyrhills High School in 1954. He was a stellar athlete in school, playing football (Mr. Touchdown), basketball and baseball. He continued his love of sports and was a much sought after Fastpitch softball pitcher. He served in the US Navy 1954-1958, sailing mostly in the Pacific Theater. He was within 7 miles of two Atomic and one Hydrogen Bomb blasts in the Bikini Islands. After the Navy, H.C. worked for Weyerhaeuser for 40 years. He was a print master and a supervisor. During retirement he worked as a handyman. He was predeceased by his parents, William Henry and Edith Pierce Nesbit, one brother, Marian, and one son, Terry Barnes. He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years Dianne, sister Hilda Baker (Gene) and Murrel Dozier (Johnny) and children, Kenneth Nesbit (Pat), Randy Barnes (Debbie), Cliff Nesbit (Omyra), Lynn Sims (Lonnie) and Sheryl Webb (Von), 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Henry was a life-long Southern Baptist. He loved singing gospel music; he and his wife, Dianne were members of the New Glory Bound Singers for over 40 years. He was a Deacon and Founding member of the Family of God Baptist Church. Donations in-lieu of flowers can be made to the Family of God Baptist Church Building Fund, Zephyrhills, FL.
