Hattie Ruth Thompson's Obituary
Hattie R. Thompson, 82, of Tampa, FL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 10, 2022.
Hattie was born on August 8, 1940, in Fitzgerald, GA, the daughter of John Samuel and Lovie Lee Lowe Davis. She was united in marriage to James D. Thompson. He passed away on August 28, 1999. Hattie leaves to cherish her memory her son: Samuel Davis; daughters: Barbara Anderson and Shirley Thompson; 5 grandchildren: Samuel (Megan) Davis, Jr; Ekanias Davis; Kevin (Sheawanda) Anderson, Jr; Jeffrey Anderson; David (Ebony) Anderson; a host of great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 brothers: David (Sandra) Davis; Wallace (Naomi) Davis; sisters: Eda Davis-Lowe; Margaret Brantley; Frances Gooden; Rudene McDonald; Ida Jeffries; Irene (Joseph) Newton; host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 4 brothers: Waldo Davis, John Henry Davis, Robert Lee Davis, Eugene Davis
Hattie was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Rochester, NY where she played the piano and was the choir director. She later became a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Thonotosassa, FL. She enjoyed crafting, cooking, life, and most of all family. She was lovingly referred to by her family as “Bossie”.
Homegoing services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church, 9750 Rockhill Rd, Thonotosassa, FL with visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL.
