Harriett "Junie" Maher's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Junie Maher, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Junie was born in Tampa, Fl, to Harry and Dorothy [Cohen] Bertram. She stayed in the Tampa area all her life, where she spent time with all the people she loved, her husband, son, grandchildren and her beloved sisters.
Junie worked as a certified nurse's aide. She was dedicated to hard work and compassion for those in her charge. Her entire family had strong work ethics, and they passed that on to the younger members of the family. Of all the things that Junie loved, her family was first and foremost. She built a life with her sisters, her son, grandchildren, the community of those who worked with her family, and most of all, her husband of 41 years; Bobby Maher, whom she cherished. He was always just as dedicated to her family and friends as Junie was. Junie leaves her beloved son; David Bertram; granddaughters; Danielle and Hannah, and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Dorothy Bertram, her twin sisters, Dorothy Bertram, and Sandra Locklear, and her niece, Dorothea Locklear.
Junie will be dearly missed by everyone who loved her.
A short visitation will be held on Friday, March 20th, 10:30 am, at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at the graveside,11am, Sunset Memory Gardens, both located at 11005 N US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
