Gloria C. Alvarez's Obituary
Gloria Alvarez, Age 97 of Seffner, Florida departed for the Kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday February 8, 2023. She was born in Isabela Puerto Rico on Monday July 6, 1925 and is one of six children to the parents of Gerardo & Emilia Caceres. She dedicated her life, love, and devotion to God and Family. She studied at the University of Puerto Rico and received her MBA. She then became an educator and worked for the Department of Education. After she completed her career in Education, she went to work for the government of Puerto Rico where she later retired. Gloria met Reinaldo Alvarez through attending social events in their hometown, with many of their friends. After a loving courtship, they were later married while he was serving in the United States Army. They moved from Puerto Rico to Tampa where she and her family have resided for 43 years. Gloria is survived by two sons; Reinaldo E Alvarez “Ray” and Hernan Alvarez “Ernie”. Surviving sisters are; Rosa Cortes and Iris Muñoz. Surviving grandchildren are; Oscar Santiago, Glori Reid, Emile Nicholas, Denise Stefanoff, Edgar Alvarez and Anthony Alvarez. Surviving Great grandchildren; Joshua, Eve, Robert, Jessica, Ashley, Christian, Anthony, Sophia, Sebastian, Ariana, Ava, Benjamin and Alani.
Also, several great great grandchildren and surviving spouses of the family, Gloria is preceded in death by Reinaldo Alvarez(Husband)and Nilsa Rast (Daughter) and her three brothers
Gerardo, Heriberto and Emilio. Aside from providing guidance and care for her family, she remained heavily involved in the Lady's Ministries and Prayer Groups
at Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon Fl. For the past 6 years she has received excellent care from hospice and personal home health care. We would like to give thanks to Ivette, Tequilla, and Iraida. A special thanks to her home care givers, Ana Acevedo, Doris Sacasa and Joy Alvarez.
