Glenda LeBerte's Obituary
Glenda Carol LeBerte, age 88, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on June 16, 2023.
Glenda was born on June 27, 1934, on a small farm in Jemison, Alabama, to Curtys Bean Martin and Marvin Martin. She grew up in this idyllic town and graduated from Jemison High School. On November 27, 1957, she married William Vincent LeBerte, and in 1970 they moved to Tampa, Florida.
While Glenda usually worked as a secretary, her passion was quilting. Her quilts were works of art, and family and close friends took pride in owning a quilt she had made. She also loved driving back to Alabama to enjoy her family reunion, and to see the woods ablaze with the colors in the fall, something that was not seen in Florida. She would pick up her mother and they would drive around for days to see the reds and yellows of an Alabama or Georgia hillside.
Glenda was predeceased by her husband, William. She is survived by her six children, William Vincent LeBerte, Jr., Angelyn Carol Phillips (Chris Phillips), Laura Ann LeBerte, Richard Patrick LeBerte, Lance Martin LeBerte, and Xyla Ruth Imschweiler (Richard Imschweiler). She is also survived by grandchildren Luke, Jacob, William, Charles, Alex, Richard, Michael, Kendall, Lance and Linda, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592
