Fannie Lloyd Breland's Obituary
Fannie Lloyd Lewis Breland, 95, of Tampa Florida went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2020 passing away from natural causes.
Lloyd was born February 26, 1925, in Birmingham, Alabama to Birmingham cardiologist Dr. Thomas Knight Lewis and his wife Cecile Garner Lewis. She graduated from Phillips High School in downtown Birmingham in 1940. Lloyd was admitted to the University of Alabama in 1941 the age of 16. There she
became a member of Phi Mu Sorority and the President of the University of Alabama Glee Club. Lloyd could sing like a movie star, and she blessed listeners at church and home with her incredible voice. She graduated in 1945 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting at the age of 20 to become assistant to Paul Garner, Dean of the UA School of Commerce and Business.1949 was a great year for Lloyd. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Breland Sr, after he returned from WWII and attended the University of Alabama. That year she also successfully completed her
Certified Public Accountant examination to become the 3rd female in the state of Alabama to do so. She was a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants for over 50 years.Her career notable highlights include serving as Accountant - Stockham Pipe and Valve Birmingham Alabama, Controller – Diamondhead Development Mississippi and North Carolina, Chair of the Board - The Breland Company Tampa Florida, Principal, Lloyd Breland CPA. She was a gifted artist specializing in hand crafted and painted pottery. Delicate plates, cups, Christmas ornaments, and figurines remain
treasured among family members.Lloyd attended Bay Hope Methodist Church where she served as a Rockette in the baby nursery.Lloyd loved her family deeply and is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at Sunset Funeral Home 11005 N US Highway 301 Thonotosassa FL 33592 commencing with visitation Wednesday October 14, 2020 at 1:30 pm and terminating at the cemetery where she will be interred beside her husband.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the University of Alabama Alumni Association https://alumni.ua.edu . The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Arbor Terrace of Citrus Park where Mom lived the last 4 years in their Evergreen Center. They kept her singing and provided remarkable care. Details will be announced for a Celebration of Life gathering in the future.
