Elaine Floyd's Obituary
Elaine Floyd, lovingly known as Laine, Nana, Skinny, and Mama Laine, was born on November 9, 1946, in Miami, FL, and passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, at the age of 78 in Tampa, FL. A devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and cherished friend, she dedicated her life to spreading love, compassion, and joy to everyone she met. Her legacy is carried on through her family and the countless lives she touched.
Elaine leaves behind a loving and expansive family who will cherish her memory forever. Elaine married Willie Dennis in 1982, and through that union, she gained a son, Terrance G. Dennis (Tiffany), and two daughters, Sophia Morgan (Milton) and Lacretia Dennis (Sam). In 2008, she married Thornell Floyd and gained children Samson Singleton, Thornell Floyd Jr. (deceased), Lyndora King, Herman Floyd, Lawrence Floyd, and Edward Floyd through that union. Her legacy continues through her goddaughter Melissa, her grandchildren, who adored her as their matriarch, and her great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Elaine also leaves behind her cherished brother, Wayne Hood, and was preceded in death by her dear brothers and sisters, Lily Mae, Maddie, Henry, and James.
Beyond her family, she was a second mother, a trusted confidant, and a lifelong friend to countless others. Her home was always open, her heart always full, and her love knew no bounds.
She enjoyed nature, especially gardening, being a dog mom, cooking, sweets, shopping, and spending time with her friends and family.
