Dorothy White's Obituary
Dorothy H. White, also known as Dottie, or more adored as “ma,” 71, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones..
She was born June 25th, 1951 in Monterey, California to the late William Hosner and Constance Wilcox. Leaving California, she spent years of her adolescence in Michigan before making Florida her permanent home in 1963. Transitioning into adulthood, Dorothy found herself in a fruitful career with Aetna Insurance, where she then retired from in 2000. From there, she started her own business, Palm Bay Services, with her daughter, Stephanie Dabbs. Alongside her career she married Myron White in 1993 and built their life together until his passing in 2014. Dorothy battled a long history of health issues starting with cervical cancer in 2005. She endured several medical procedures, kidney failure, and open heart surgery.. Nevertheless, this did not stop her from indulging in the things she enjoyed most; binge watching television shows, crossword puzzles, traveling to see family in Michigan, eating out at her favorite restaurants (and probably ordering the T-bone,) and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Stephanie Dabbs, her husband Tye Dabbs, and Kyle White; grandchildren, Theron, Shelby, Troy, Dani, and Kaylie; great-grandchildren, Lanette, and baby Eli who Ma was so excited to meet on his arrival this January; sisters, Linda Cooper, Brenda and husband Norman Ritz, Robin Chesser, and Debbie Allison.
There will be a funeral held on October 29th, 2022 from 2pm-3pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N. US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, Florida 33592. Following the funeral, the family would like to invite you to join them at Dottie’s favorite restaurant, The Outback, 11308 N 56th St. Temple Terrace FL, 33617.
