Harriet Beecher Stowe once wrote "the bitterest tears shed over graves are for the words left unsaid and deeds left undone." I think it was a blessing to know that so many of us were able to be there in her final days, sharing stories and memories of times gone by. I was there in the last moment and, while words can never describe what that was like, it made me realize that my mom and I would forever share the images of a full circle of life. For her it was the happiness of witnessing me taking my first breath, and for me the sorrow of seeing her take her last. In between there are too many memories to share and those times are what I will carry with me in my heart until we meet again. Godspeed mommy, I hope I'm everything you hoped I would be. I love you and I will miss you.
