My fondest memory of Devlin is when I started coming to his home to tutor him. After his tutoring sessions, we would sit around and talk about the events of the day. If we all started complaining too much about life in general, Devlin would sit there and start cracking up at our woes and belly laugh so hard he would get us all laughing. He would be like, "You guys need to lighten up!" And we did!
Devlin had the best sense of humor and loved to 'be in the know.' I remember whether he was at school or at home, when he heard an interesting conversation he would tilt his head an aim his ear towards whomever was talking. Sometimes he would have a serious intent look on his face and sometimes he would be smiling. When I would see him do this, I would jokingly say, "Devlin are you listening in on the conversation?" And he would have this big grin on his face.
Those of us who knew Devlin, I believe, learned more from him than he could ever have learned from us:))) He was brave and loving. He was so blessed to have the most loving and dedicated parents.
John 14:1-3 - Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am.
