Dennis Luis Nunez's Obituary
Dennis Luis Nunez, 44, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on October 8, 2025.
Born on August 8, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois, Dennis was known for his joyful spirit, kind heart, and unwavering faith. He lived in Chicago, Tampa, and most recently Richmond, forming lasting connections everywhere he went. His sense of humor, warmth, and generosity left a mark on all who knew him.
Dennis’s faith in God was a constant presence throughout his life. He drew strength and peace from his beliefs, regularly attending church and staying grounded in his spirituality.
He had a deep love for music and sports, passions that brought him joy and connection with others. Dennis was often remembered for his laughter, easygoing nature, and ability to lift the spirits of those around him.
He loved his daughter, Leilani Sonia Mae Nunez, and always carried her in his heart. He leaves behind Leilani, who will forever be a part of his legacy.
He is also survived by his father, Engracio Nunez, his brother, Geraldo Nunez, whom they shared a lifelong bond with each other, his sister-in-law, Kelly Nunez, their children, his nieces, Natalie and Savannah Nunez, his niece Bonnie Suarez, and nephew Thomas Cubas, and many more loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sonia Nunez, and his brothers James and Thomas Cubas, with whom he is now reunited in eternal peace.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 11005 N. US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, Florida. Burial will follow immediately after the visitation.
Dennis will be remembered for his faith, his laughter, and the love he gave in his own way. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
