David Charlton Wright Sr.'s Obituary
David “Dave” C. Wright Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 11, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana.
Dave was preceded in death by his father, Chester “Chet” Wright, and his mother, Carolyn Bryson. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Holly; two sons, David (Maria) and Steve (Kristie); six grandchildren, David, Cheyenne, Christie, Gracie, Madison and Carli; two great grandchildren, Scarlett and Caden. He is also survived by his sister, Hope McDonald, and his brother, Chris Bryson.
Dave proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, living by the words, “Follow me.” That same leadership and strength carried through every part of his life.
After the Army, Dave worked in the oil business at Quaker State and Davis Oil before starting his own company, A&W Maintenance, in 1989. Dave took pride in his work; he was in his office chair by 6am every morning ordering parts, coordinating job sites, and answering phones to continue building the business partnerships and friendships he’d made across the southeast.
Outside of work, Dave found his peace and happiness at his property in Adel, Georgia. He loved hunting, farming, and being outdoors, but more than anything, he loved teaching, laughing, and passing down the knowledge and skills he was so proud of.
Dave will be remembered for his strength, his stories, his dedication, and the deep love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
