Daniel J Stutzman's Obituary
Dan J. Stutzman, Sarasota, Florida went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2016. Dan survived a courageous fight with leukemia five years ago. His strong will to live, unwavering faith in the Lord, the love and prayers of family and many friends carried him through the past five years. Until his physical body became too weary and he developed congestive heart failure.
Dan was formerly from Holmes County, Ohio where he worked as a heavy equipment operator at Hardy Coal for many years. Dan and his wife Martha moved to Florida twenty eight years ago. Dan was a caring and compassionate person that was a good listener and enjoyed serving the Pinecraft Amish community where he was well known and respected. Dan enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family and friends throughout the years. Dan is a member of the Pinecraft Amish Church.
Dan was born August 30, 1940 at home in New Bedford, Ohio to Jonas and Lovina (Beachy) Stutzman. He married Martha (Miller) Stutzman on November 10, 1960. They have raised 6 dear children: Sara Stutzman, Colorado Springs, Co; Marlin Stutzman, Dundee, OH; Carol (Roscoe) Singletary, Sarasota, Fla; Ada Stutzman, Millersburg, OH; Merle (Diane) Stutzman, Apple Creek, Oh; Marion Stutzman, Dundee, OH. and 8 precious grandchildren Chenoa and (Austin) Johnson and Emma, Colorado; Tanner, Dundee; Monique and Micah, Sarasota; Brandon, Millersburg and Logan and Megan, Apple Creek. He is survived 2 sisters and 4 brothers; Noah (Amanda) Stutzman, Vernon (Mary) Stutzman, Eli (Mary) Stutzman, Ada (Eli) Barkman and Mary (Alvin) Raber all of Fresno, Ohio and Melvin (Rebecca) Stutzman of Millersburg, Ohio.
He is proceeded in death by Mother (Lovina), Father (Jonas) and Sister (Amanda).
Calling hours will be Wednesday June 15, 2016 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM followed by a service at 6:00 at Mennonite Tourist Church at 3340 Bahia Vista St Sarasota, Fla.
Services in Ohio are as follows…Calling hours will be held Friday June 17, 2016 from 2:00 -4:00 PM and 5:00 -8:00 PM at Grace Mennonite Church at 5750 County Road 77 Berlin, Ohio. Funeral Service will be held Saturday June 18, 2016 at 10AM at Grace Mennonite Church. Burial will follow the service at Light in the Valley Cemetery.
