Cynthia Phipps' Obituary
In Loving Memory of Cynthia Phipps
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Cynthia Phipps, who departed this life on Sunday, March 1st, 2026. Cynthia was truly full of life. Her laughter was contagious; her smile could light up any room, and her welcoming personality made everyone feel instantly at home. She had a rare and beautiful gift for turning strangers into friends and friends into family. Being in her presence meant feeling seen, heard, and genuinely loved.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren fiercely and unconditionally, always placing their needs above her own. Whether she was offering wise advice, a comforting embrace or words of encouragement, Cynthia made sure her family knew they were her heart and purpose.
Selfless to her core, Cynthia gave freely of herself. She was the kind of woman who showed up – in the good times and the hard ones – steady, loving, and strong. During life’s challenges, she often reminded those around her with her favorite saying, “This too shall pass.” Those words reflected her faith, resilience, and belief that brighter days were always ahead.
Cynthia leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving son, Christopher Trancoso (Sharon), her adoring son, Michael Phipps (Michelle), and her devoted daughter Elinor Negron (Herb); her beloved grandchildren Alison, Eliana, Marie, Leilani, Kalysia and Junior. Her treasured great-grandchildren Jayden and Sakari; along with a host of bonus grandchildren, nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews extended family and dear friends who were blessed by her love. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mervyn Phipps, her son Peter, parents, three sisters and one brother.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love surrounds us still. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the memories she created and the deep bonds she nurtured within her family. She will be forever cherished, deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
A memorial service celebrating Cynthia’s life will be held on Sunday, March 15th at Sunset Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, located at 11005 N US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, Florida. Viewing will take place from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, with the service beginning at 12:00 pm. Cremation will follow.
