Curtis Evander Hamilton Jr.'s Obituary
Curtis Evander Hamilton, Jr., passed away August 21, 2016. He was born July 4, 1928 in Tampa to the late Curtis and Catherine (Clark) Hamilton, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Jamie, Jerry and Kurt; daughter, Linda; sisters, Arlene and Betty; and brother-in-law, Stan.
Curtis was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church. He spent the first and last portions of his life in Tampa. For most of the middle part he spent much of his time in Costa Rico and Belize. He would hitch a ride on banana boats which imported and exported bananas for their business called Hamilton Brothers. It was very well known back years ago. While in Costa Rico and Belize, he was a crop duster pilot. Curtis was very generous with his time and talents to help others. He built boats out of wood for those in need.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Johanna Blevins and her husband Howard of Tampa; and Rebecca Silvert and her husband Peter of Wesley Chapel; grandchildren, Ashley, Valerie, Sarah, Jack and William; great grandson, Nolen.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N. US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, Florida 33592. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am followed by interment in Sunset Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Curtis’ honor online to the Riverdale Baptist Church in care of the Peter Paularinne Family Life Center at www.riverdalebaptistchurch.com. Memories and condolences may be left at www.sunset-fh.com.
