Crissi Lee Lyons' Obituary
Crissi Lee Lyons, born on June 14th, 1972. She was the most devoted mother, wife, sister, friend, aunt, cousin, and the list could go on. She will be deeply missed by all the loved ones that she has touched on earth.
Crissi was born in New Jersey in 1972 to Lawrence Ruski and Patricia Ruski. The youngest of 4, Tammi, Larry and Stan. Crissi and her family stayed in New Jersey for a little while before moving to Tampa, where she would spend the rest of her beautiful life.
Crissi grew up in Tampa alongside her siblings and many friends. Graduating from Armwood High School and meeting the love her life, Sonny, whom she would spend the next 35 years with. They went on to have two children, Zach and Meghan. Crissi devoted her life to being a mother and that’s all she could have ever wished for. She was dedicated and loving, never once putting herself before her kids. She was born to be a mother and so she was, the definition of it to be exact. She raised her kids to think for themselves and to follow their hearts. Always there to help with homework, sports, and putting a smile on their faces. She taught them many lessons that they will carry with them for eternity. Her children will miss her for the rest of their lives.
If you could describe Crissi in one word, it would be caring. Crissi’s love was unconditional. Not only for her family, but for anyone that she opened her heart to. She cared deeply for animals as well, something her and her daughter have in common. Whether it be dogs, cats, elephants, you name it, she loved them. She often found herself on her back porch trying to cuddle a lizard, a duck, even an injured bird. She even saved a baby squirrel that fell out of a tree! Animals were her happy place.
Crissi, her husband and her son all shared a passion for football. You could find them on Sunday’s sitting on the couch and screaming at the tv together. Football was her favorite thing to call her son about and ramble on and on because she knew how much it interests him. She almost won her entire fantasy football league in her first and only year among 9 guys. She lost in the championship to her son, but she would have wanted it that way.
Crissi is enjoying unlimited amounts of decaf coffee, fine dining and fish filets in heaven, alongside her Mom, Dad, brother and her beloved pets that she has had throughout her lifetime. Forever singing loads of karaoke.
Please join us in the celebration of her beautiful 51 years on this earth.
Her service and burial will be held on September 30th from 10-2 at
Sunset Funeral Home and Memory Gardens located at
