Clara "Libba" "Liz" Ward's Obituary
Clara "Libba" "Liz" Ward: Our family mourns the loss of a borrowed angel. Her soul found eternal rest on December 30, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Atha Cooke and brother Larry Daniel Cooke. Libba is survived by her devoted daughters; Jodi Altman (Catherine Mickler) and Jeanne Benjamin (Tom), grandchildren; Jeffry Altman (Krystin Young), Jonathan Altman, Kimberly Yoder, Tommy Benjamin, great grandchildren; Jeffry Altman, Benjamin LouAllen, Madyson Altman, brother Ricky Steven Cooke (Diana), sister Joy Clayton, extended family and numerous friends Liz was the owner of B&P Insurors; and a member of F.A.I.A., N.A.I.W., the Florida and National Associations of Insurance Women. She was the first to bring Insurance classes into Hillsborough County Public Schools, starting at Jefferson High in the late 70's. She also taught continuing education classes for Insurance Agents and was advocate for Prepaid Legal Aid. A visitation will be held from 10- 11 a.m., with a funeral service beginning a 11 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Stonewall Baptist Church, 2717 West Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL. 33614 where she was a faithful member.
