Sr. Christy Kanjirakattu's Obituary
Sr. Christy was the fourth child born to Philip & Aleykutty Kanjirakattu, Kanjiramattom, Kottayam, Kerala, India.
Sr Christy’s First Profession was on 5/21/1981
She started her Nursing studies @ St. John`s Medical College, Bangalore in 1982 and completed her training in1986.
Her First Mission work was in Odisha from 1986-1989.
She left India in 1989 for USA and came to Indiana, USA. She worked in different parts of US for the past 33 years. She moved to Tampa, FL in 2000. She has been working as a nurse at Mortan Plant hospital.
She was an integral part of the Syro-Malabar Catholic community and St Joseph’s Syro- Malabar Catholic Church (SJSMCC) since it started in 2008 as a mission. She was the CCD director of SJSMCC. Sr Christy trained 100s of children for the First Holy communion & confirmation throughout the years. Sr. Christy volunteered/dedicated most her time to the church for various activities especially for the children. It will be impossible to fill the void Sr Christy leaves behind. Sr Christy was always there for everyone especially in their difficult times. Sr Christy will dearly be missed by the whole community.
She finished her work which Good Lord had given to her and left the earthly life for her eternal house on 27th July 2022.
I say to you, unless the grain of wheat, falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat, but if it dies, it produces much fruit.
