Charles William Irwin's Obituary
Charles William “Bill” Irwin
Irwin, Charles William “Bill” 90, of Tampa, FL passed peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father Wednesday, March 8, 2023. He leaves memories of a full and wonderful life with his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ruth; his daughters Betty (Francis) Torrens, Rita (Nicholas) Manikis; his sister, Donna Bastien; ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a bushel of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy May Irwin, father Arthur Irwin, brother Jack Irwin, son Larry Wigginton and daughter-in-law, Connie Wigginton. Bill was born in Monroe, Michigan where he lived for 14 years. After serving two terms in the U.S. military, he met and married his wife in 1967 in Grand Rapids, MI. They moved to Florida in 1969, where he served as general manager at several Tampa car dealers before retiring. His greatest joy in life was his role as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bill was honest, sharp, full of wisecracks and had all the charm of a real Irishman. He loved fishing, boating, golfing, grilling, cruise vacations, his wife’s southern cooking, his dog Bandit and front-porch sitting. We love you so much and will miss your warm smile and big hugs. Family and friends are invited to honor his life Monday, March 13. Family visitation at 10 a.m. at Buchanan Baptist Church, open visitation at 10:30 a.m., service at 11:30 a.m. followed by graveside service at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa, FL.
