Carlos A Melendez's Obituary
Carlos Melendez
April 27, 1945 – February 24, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Carlos Melendez, who left this world on February 24, 2025, at the age of 79, surrounded by his loving family.
Carlos was born on April 27, 1945, in Chiclayo, Peru, to Alejandro Melendez and Blanca Zegarra, whom he now joins in heaven. As a young boy, he shared a deep bond with his father, spending cherished moments transcribing his poetry—an honor that led his father to name his poetry books Carlitos in tribute to him.
Carlos’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Magda Melendez, and a proud father to Blanca Melendez (Urambia Sanchez), Carlos Melendez (Martha Cecilia), Paty Melendez (Satish Muraharisetti), and Jose Melendez. His heart was full of love for his grandchildren, Ximena Sanchez, Kamila Muraharisetti, Ramil Muraharisetti, and Luciana Melendez, whom he adored endlessly and who brought him immense happiness.
A passionate soccer fan, Carlos cheered with all his heart for the Football Club Melgar and the Peruvian National Team, a love he proudly passed down to his children and grandchildren. He also found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially watching his favorite TV show, El Chavo del Ocho, which never failed to bring a smile to his face. His infectious laughter, quick wit, and ever-present jokes made every family gathering brighter, leaving behind memories that will be treasured forever.
Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his mother after more than 70 years and resting peacefully in her loving embrace. His legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Una Carta del Cielo
Cuando el mañana comienza sin mí
Y no estoy allí para ver;
Si el sol saliera y encontrara tus ojos
Todos llenos de lágrimas por mí.
Ojalá no lloraras
Como lo hiciste hoy;
Mientras pensaba en las muchas cosas
No llegamos a decirlo.
Se cuanto me amas
Tanto como te quiero;
Y cada vez que piensas en mí,
Sé que tú también me extrañarás.
Cuando el mañana comience sin mí,
No creas que estamos muy separados
Por cada vez que piensas en mí,
Estoy aquí en tu corazón.
