Carla Yvette Wingo's Obituary
Carla Yvette Joyner Wingo, 57, peacefully passed away on July 11, 2023, in Tampa, FL. Born on September 19, 1965, in Tampa, she was the beloved daughter of Carl Joyner and Jessie Mae Parker.
Carla's spiritual journey led her to join Praise Outreach Bible Study Church, Inc. (Pastor Emmett Lee and Pastor Brenda Johnson) in Tampa, FL, where she served as an Evangelist and Church Clerk. Known as "Sister Carla" to her church community, she was a Holy Ghost-filled, devil-stomping, fire-baptized woman of God, that radiated His love to everyone she encountered. Carla's unwavering faith and tireless dedication made her an inspiration to all who knew her. Her impact will be felt for generations to come, as her prayers touched countless lives. Beyond her spiritual pursuits, Carla also possessed a multitude of creative talents, excelling as a baker, seamstress, self-taught fashion designer, and artist.
In her leisure time, Carla found joy in cooking, sewing, watching action movies, indulging in butter pecan ice cream, attending church services, and cherishing moments with her three children and three grandchildren. She was a fiercely devoted mother who would go to great lengths for her children, raising them to embody the very best of her values. Carla was known for her distinctive personality and selective circle of companions, as she valued genuine connections. If you sought her assistance, make no mistake—she had no time for games. While she loved very deeply, Carla also dispensed tough love when necessary.
Carla was preceded in death by her father, Carl Joyner; her brother, Bryan LeCount; and her special bonus daughter, Timmecia Smith. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 26 years, Dempsey Wingo; her mother, Jessie Parker (James); her daughters: Jessica Simpson (Charles) and Jasmine Jackson; her son, Anthony Mormon, II (Irena); her granddaughter, Janai' Carnegie; her grandsons: Tommy Simpson and Micah Smith; her brothers, Howard Joyner (Berlin); TeRodney Russell (Valencia); and Cludner LeCount; her sisters, Tonya Lavendar; Timee Denson (Oren); and LaQueta LeCount; her best friend, Hope Lee (Emmett); her goddaughters, Dominique Green and Claricia Maxwell (Rajah); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
