Caridad Garcia Souto's Obituary
Caridad Souto went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, the 22nd of January at Life Path Hospice in Tampa, Florida.
Born in 1953 in Manhattan, New York, Caridad, or as family know her, Kiry, and her friends Carrie, was described a strong, hard working, nice and sweet person. She had a passion for fixing hair and make-up and took courses in beautician school. During her upbringing in New York, Kiry liked to play handball at the handball court across the street. She liked watching scary movies and imitated Lily Tomlin and made her sisters and brother laugh. Kiry loved the beach and the play grounds, listening to music and dancing with her sisters and brother.
After moving to Tampa in 1990, she began teaching children at daycare centers and enjoyed coming home telling us stories from some of the kids. She would tell us the kids made her smile. She worked with children until the begining of 2019. Kiry was always a hard worker and liked to work. Even when she was under treatment for the cancer she wanted to go back to work at the Daycare where she use to work and she did go back for a couple of months. The owner/manager appreciated her work at the Daycare because she was a great worker and so friendly with everyone.
Kiry enjoyed cooking and baking, with her signature dish being flan de queso and made the meanest caldo gallego. She loved listening to oldies music and watching HGTV, Food Network, and Madea movies. On weekday nights, Kiry and Elias would watch dramatic spanish novelas together.
She is survived by her husband Elias Souto, son Ricardo Souto, daughters Elaine Galan and Jeanette Lopez. and grandkids Johnathon, Ryan, and Aaron Finkelstein, all of whom live in Tampa, FL, and brought great joy to her later years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor. Please check the family's social media for donation details.
