Byron O Harrison's Obituary
Byron O. Harrison, 83, passed away Friday March 12, 2021 at home
surrounded by his loving wife and family. Byron was born and raised in
Johnstown, PA but has made his home in Brandon, FL for the last 50 years.
He worked for 15 years at the Tribune Democrat in Johnstown, PA then
continued his career at the Tampa Tribune as a journeyman pressman for 32
years in Tampa, FL. He was married to his beloved wife, Janet Harrison
(McDowell) for 62 years. He was preceded in death by his parents: Montell
and Mildred (Callahan) Harrison; brothers: Dean, Vernon (Marylyn), and
Clyde Harrison; brother-in-law: John (Sharon) Toth. He is survived by his sisters: Viona (Larry) Blue, Sharon Toth, Fern (Marlin) Blue, Denise (Gene) Bovino; sisters-in-law: Delores (Dean) Harrison and Gloria Harrison; children: Machele (Hank) Wehle, Carolyn (Bruce) Stafford and
Dale (Sandy) Harrison; grandchildren: Cara (Matthew) Albers, Lucas Wehle, Garrett Harrison, Taylor Harrison, Colton Stafford, Alisha Wehle, and Austin Stafford; great-grandchildren: Madeleine and Christian Albers. Byron graduated from Richland High School in 1955 and retired from the Tampa Tribune in 2002. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the
Brethren in Johnstown, PA and attended New Hope United Methodist Church in Brandon, FL.
Byron was always a hard worker, and had a huge heart, always willing to help others. Above all, his favorite life roles were being a husband, dad, Papa and Pappy to his loving family. In lieu of flowers, we ask that all donations be made to LifePath Hospice, Tampa, FL www.chaptershealth.org), or the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org). A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday April 3rd at New Hope United Methodist Church of Brandon.
