Mr. Billy G. Brown's Obituary
Billy G. Brown, 88, passed away August 3, 2017. He was born February 11, 1929 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late W.C. Brown and Adria Darby Brown. His wife Wynette preceded him in death in 2011.
Mr. Brown joined the United States Air Force and left Kentucky in 1949; and stayed in the Tampa area the rest of his life. He celebrated sixty years as a Mason and was also a Kentucky Colonel. A Kentucky Colonel is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Commissions for Kentucky colonels are given by the governor and the secretary of state to individuals in recognition of noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state or the nation. Serving his faith as a deacon at one time for Temple Terrace First Baptist Church, he had been a member of the parish since 1964. Billy enjoyed fishing, and smoking a Good cigar. He dedicated his time and talent as a manager with Temple Terrace’s Senior baseball league.
Left to cherish his memory are his son Clifford “Cliff” Brown, grandson Joel Brown of Temple Terrace, FL. Son Billy and his wife Cindy, grandson Shawn of New Brockton, AL. Son David and his wife Alicia, granddaughters Makayla and Amelia of Tampa, FL.
Visitation Tuesday August 8th, 10am-11am at Sunset Funeral Home.
Service at 11am and burial to follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
