Bernell B. Brown's Obituary
Sister Bernell Broner Brown was born November 12. 1929 to the late Ralph and Essie Mae Granger in Dothan, AL. She was educated there as well as later moved to Dade City, FL and afterwards to Tampa.
Sister Broner-Brown was married to Mr. Willie Broner, Sr. and to that union 6 Children were born. She later married the late Deacon Peter Brown.
She was employed as a bus driver for the Hillsborough County Schools for over 5 years retiring in 1985. Upon retiring , she gave her time as a volunteer member of the staff at St. Joseph Hospital for many years being joy and smiles to the hearts of the patients confined with various illness.
Singing was a passion of hers and she would travel all over the Tampa Bay Area and surrounding cities to sing and enjoy others singing. In addition to the choirs at St. Matthew, she was proud member of the O’Halo Gospel Singing Group.
She was a member of St. Matthew M. B. Church for over 50 years. Serving diligently and faithfully with several ministries of the church, including but not limited to the Progressive Usher Staff, Music Ministry, Youth and Children Ministry, Sunday School Department, and Deaconess Ministry. She also worked tirelessly as Chairperson of the St. Matthew Annual Family and Friends Day since its inception over 10 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 1 brother, and one great-grand son.
Sister Brown leaves a legacy of love behind in the hearts of her loving children; Willie, Jr., Arstella, Ricky, Linda, James, Williams; her devoted 14 grands ,18 great grands and 3 great-great grands; 1brother Eugene Granger(Alberta) of Tallahassee, FL; 1 sister Willie Mae Richardson of Dade City, FL and a host of other family members and friends and Barmenthia Banks goddaughter.
