Arlene Maureen Hamilton's Obituary
Arlene Maureen Hamilton, lovingly known for her strength, wit, and unwavering love, passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 61.
She was born on September 16, 1964, in Westmoreland, Jamaica, to the late Louis Hamilton and Joy Stephenson. Arlene carried her roots with pride and brought that same richness and warmth into every space she entered.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Lewis; her beloved daughter, Andradeen Randall [Reginald Randall] and Stephanie Lewis; and her sons, Marc Lewis and Michael Lewis. She also leaves behind her siblings: Devon Hamilton, Gregory March, Gary March, Alexandra March, Corine Hamilton, Gregory Hamilton, and Richard Hamilton.
Arlene’s greatest joy was her granddaughter, Rylee Jade—the light of her life and the center of her world. She was also a mother figure to many, lovingly embracing her “children of love”: Johnessa, Arrianna, Tina, Meggan, Ali, Trudy, Maurice, Terrance, and many more that affectionately just called her “Mommy, Mama Ras, Mom”.
A woman of undeniable character, Arlene was known for her spicy personality, quick wit, and fearless honesty—she called a spade a spade every time. She was bossy in the way only a true matriarch can be, leading with confidence, protection, and deep love.
Beneath her toughness was a heart that loved fiercely and without condition.
Arlene found peace in life’s simple but meaningful joys—especially in the kitchen, where her love spoke loudest. She was an exceptional cook, known for meals that didn’t just feed people, but brought them together. Her signature dishes became family legends: tender Hallmark short ribs, perfectly seasoned and tender lamb, hearty stew peas, flavorful salmon, and her famously coated fried chicken, fried just right every time. And then there was her unforgettable, mysterious “green seasoning sauce”—no recipe, no measurements, just instinct and love. If Arlene cooked for you, you knew you were cared for.
Beyond the kitchen, she found joy in gardening and nurturing life, and in walking five to six miles a day—time she used to reflect, reset, and keep moving forward. She dedicated 15 years of service to Publix, where her strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment never went unnoticed.
Arlene Maureen Hamilton leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, laughter, and leadership. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always felt in the lives of those she touched.
