Arie Lee Dixon's Obituary
Arie Lee Dixon, 96, of Dover, FL entered the gates of Heaven on November 14, 2022. Arie Lee was born August 10, 1926 to Alberta Ealy and Leroy Johnson in Cuthbert, Georgia, the only child to Alberta. She attended school in Randolph County.
At a very young age, Arie lived with her late grandmother, Frances Hightower, who gave birth to eighteen children. Six little cousins were also living with Grandmother: Marie, Larcie, Jimmy, Bessie, Charles and Otis Hightower. They were an intricate part of Arie’s life.
Years later, Arie’s closest friend was the late Sallie B. Dixon. Sallie had six older brothers and Arie was smitten by one, Edward Dixon. In 1944, Arie and Edward were married and moved to Jacksonville, FL. Years later they moved to Tampa, FL.
This union produced 3 children: Jeanette, Curtis and older daughter Ruthie.
Arie’s greatest accomplishment was being a loving and devoted wife to Edward, who preceded her in death in 2004. A loving and stern mother to her children and a loving and less stern to her grandchildren: Kenneth, who preceded her in death, Daphne, Darien, Courtney, and Alicia.
Arie was active in church and was a praying Mother loved by many. At age 96, Arie was the Matriarch of all the families.
Leaving loving memories to: Jeanette Dixon, Curtis Dixon (Elaine), Ruthie Daniels, Mary Orr, LaFonda Hightower and Mary Hightower and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. God Bless.
Homegoing Services will be at 12noon on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Loving Hill Primitive Baptist Church, with visitation being from 11am until 12noon at the church. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens.
