Anthony "Rocky" Velasco's Obituary
Anthony Velasco, also known as "Rocky", passed unexpectedly February 1st, 2024, in Tampa, FL, at the age of 41.
Anthony was born August 28th, 1982. He was very passionate about sports, his favorites being Football and wrestling. He graduated from Riverview High school, with many scholarships, as he was one of the county's top offensive linemen. Rocky graduated with a 3.5 grade point average. He aspired to one day be a professor, as he loved to learn, teach, and share his wisdom with everyone. He enjoyed listening to music and working out. Rocky loved to tell jokes, and his laugh was infectious to all around him.
Anthony is preceded in death by his son, Zachariah Anthony Velasco; his father, Anthony Lawrence Velasco; his grandfathers, Joseph Skrypek, and Robert Velasco; his grandmothers, Alice Velasco, and Mercedes Castillo; and his great-grandfather Reinaldo Castillo.
Anthony is survived by his mother, Felicia Skrypek; stepfather, Amado Munoz; stepmother, Lisa Consalvi; four sisters, Crystal Velasco, Lorraine Velasco, Summer Skrypek, and Diane Marin; his brother, Rocco Velasco; uncles, Joseph Skrypek, and David Velasco; two nieces, Trinity Harget, and Teagan O’Connor; three nephews, Jayden O’Connor, Nathan Harget, and Cody Ford Jr.; brother-in-law, Cody Ford; and 6 cousins, Jakob Wilkins, Cinnamon Velasco, Patricia Velasco, Violet Velasco, Fancy Velasco, Allen Whooten .
Rocky will forever be missed by so many who deeply love him.
Visitation service will be on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 11am to 1pm.
Funeral service to follow at 1pm, both at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592, officiated by Pastor Kevin Cox of Clair Mel Assembly of God Church.
