Anna Mae Dediego's Obituary
Anna Mae DeDiego of Tampa, Florida, passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 93.
Anna relocated to Tampa from Shreveport, LA in 1938 when her father was transferred to start the construction of Mac Dill AFB. During her 87 years in Tampa she witnessed the city’s growth from “two dirt roads and nothing but trees” into the vibrant city it is today.
She enjoyed sharing with others that she lived through WWII, graduated from Plant High School Class of ‘51 and voted for 20 US presidents. She is a member of the Tampa Bowling Association Hall of Fame, was a Girl Scout, BSA Cub Scout leader, and retired from Maas Brothers after 25 years of service.
Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who also shared her life with many cherished pets. She was known for her kindness and generosity and took great pride in caring for those around her. She was a talented quilter, creating pieces that became lasting reminders of her. She would remind you that she only made quilts for people that she loved.
She is survived by her three sons, Frank, Anthony, and Tim DeDiego; her sister, Patricia Daniels; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene DeDiego.
Visitation, memorial and burial services will be held on January 24, 2026, at Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, FL.
Visitation will be 11:30am – 1:30pm, immediately followed by memorial and graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay or St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tampa, Fl in Anna’s memory.
