Amanda J. Woolard's Obituary
Anyone who had the honor of meeting Amanda Romero made an instant friend for life who, upon meeting you, promptly began planning a trip to Disney with you, whether she told you about it or not. She consistently went above and beyond to make fellow humans feel at home with themselves and their situations as she dug deep into the hearts of our community, continuously planning fundraisers and outreach events to help those in need. Throughout her lifetime of volunteering, she filled her hometown Tampa with many organizations and foundations, and was God’s hands and feet here on earth connecting people to their dreams and stopping at nothing to see others smile. When Amanda, at age 36, was diagnosed with Stage 3 cervical cancer which had metastasized rapidly, she pushed even harder to further her kindness revolution and made it her mission to raise awareness of cervical cancer to a whole new level. Because of Amanda’s efforts, countless lives have been changed, enlightened, and ultimately saved! Through numerous treatments and surgeries, Amanda documented her ups and downs, despite how hard it was to share the utmost personal information, so that another might have their cancer detected early and surthrive. Her savior, Jesus Christ, met her right where she was, carried her through it all, and welcomed her home at age 38 on August 21, 2022. She is survived by her husband Roland, their two daughters Giselle and Ella, her son Aiden, her mother Glenda, her stepfather Arthur, her mother-in-law Mirna Romero, her sisters Terry, Nadine, Dina, Lillie, and Anna, her brother Patrick, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Richard and brother Anthony. Friends (and strangers she would love to have met) can visit with Amanda’s family at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Saturday, September 10, at 12pm, with a service to follow at 1pm.

Amanda may be gone from this earth, but she will never be forgotten. She always said, “Pressure builds diamonds,” and we can see the bright and shining diamond she became, spreading God’s great love as far and wide as possible. As we lean not on our own understanding, we walk in faith, according to God’s Will, and trust with certainty that Amanda has now been healed of all ailments and is winking down on us as, surely, upon gaining entrance into heaven, she has immediately begun organizing all the angels and maximizing all of their efforts. We lift her family up in prayer as they are so grateful for their time with Amanda and have pledged to always spread kindness in her memory. Let us join them in building a better tomorrow. We ask our Heavenly Father to reveal to us our best next steps in celebrating Amanda’s life and raising cervical cancer awareness in her name. We will remember forever her smile, her warmth, her energy, and her love for life, family, and friends.
