Alice Torrens' Obituary
Alice Torrens, age 87, of Thonotosassa, FL. passed away April 8th, 2026. As a born-again Christian, she placed her faith in Jesus Christ and lived with the hope of eternal life. Today, we rejoice that she is now with her Heavenly Father.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and will carry her memory with them always. Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Louis M. Torrens; her parents, Walter Lee and Annie Laurie Daniel; and 2 brothers, Walter “Sonny” Daniel and Jimmie Daniel.
Alice is survived by her three children, Sharon (Joe) Hobson, Toby Torrens and Bruce (Bethany) Torrens; 6 grandchildren, Cory Hobson, Daniel Torrens, Jeremy Hobson, Amanda Stampas, Benjamin Torrens and Brett Torrens; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Alice enjoyed visiting thrift and craft stores whenever she had the opportunity. She was passionate about tending her yard and planting flowers, and could often be found browsing garden centers. At one point in her life, she owned a flower/craft shop.
Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, beginning at 3:00 pm.; a Celebration of Life Service will follow at 4:00 pm, both at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
