We have fond memories of Lester Hathcox which began with his mother. Mrs. Hathcox bought a mobile home from our father. She then moved her mobile home into our small mobile home park. Lester moved in with his mom and started working for a forklift dealer. Then he left for the South Pacific. Upon returning, he started working as a guard at the jail. Lester also shared stories of learning to fly a helicopter for the Sheriff’s Office. We enjoyed knowing him and having him in our mobile home park! Lester was a good, honest man and the world is a lesser place without him!
Fondly, Art and Sheri Doutt, owners of the Windmill Estates Mobile Home Park.

Lucy & family of Lester...I am so sorry to hear of Lester's passing. I never got the chance to meet him in person, but spoke to him many times on the phone. He was always such a pleasure to speak with. You and family are in my thoughts and prayers. Amber Proctor
Most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Lester. The memories I have of him "dropping in" in the middle of night to share our awful tasting coffee at DIV are forever engraved in my mind. When Lester showed up to help, it was like he always brought the solution to our problem. He will be missed by a great number of people, and if he met them in person at any time, I know they were friends after that. Thinking about it, Lester probably is where he always wanted to be; high above watching over us. / Jacques and Family.
We are very new to the cul-de-sac and didn't have a chance to met Mr. Hatchcox but we send our sincerest condolences to Mrs. Hatchox and their family. We echo what another neighbor has said here that in the short time we have lived in the neighborhood, we always enjoyed Mr. Hatchox never failing to wave to us as we passed by his house. We also noticed his lovely car and the time and care he took in what was obviously a great passion for him as well as the happy dogs that play around his house. Rest in peace Lester.

My heart is heavy at the loss of Lester. We worked together for many years at the Sheriff's Office. His smile, his jokes, and his laughter were infectious. He was one of the best Deputies I ever worked with and one of the finest men I ever knew. It was an honor to have known him.
