Laverne Gibert, 92, of Tampa was joyfully called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and reunited again with her loved ones in heaven on Friday morning, May 8, 2020. Laverne was born on December 23, 1927 in Colquitt, Georgia to the late Dollie Lea Moody and Oliver Bartow Moody. Laverne was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a charter member of East Chelsea Baptist Church, and the sweetest lady you could ever hope to meet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Dollie Moody; husband, Walter "Herb" Gilbert; daughter, Sandra Touchton; sisters, Sue Nagle and Juanita Rowland; and brother, Curtis Moody. Left to cherish her precious memory are daughters, Glenda Hatcher and husband, Jim; Sharon Houser and husband, Mike; Sheila Rosenberg and husband, Joel; Lori Yuhas and husband, Troy; grandchildren, Nikki, Angela, Heathe, Daphne, Ryan, Christopher, Shayna, Danielle, Joshua, Rosa, Isai, Joel, Adam, Graesen and Gage; twenty great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren, a host of neices and nephews, and many, many friends. Donations to East Chelsea Baptist Church (mailed to 7225 E Chelsea St., Tampa, FL 33610) in her sweet memory would be greatly appreciated.
