Dear Judy and Family, It has been six months and sadly I just found out about your loss. I have thought this for a long time knowing Dave, I think he was the best person I have ever met in my life. He was a wonderful friend and working associate. I could tell that he loved you more than any words could describe along with his family. You were so lucky and blessed to have him as your husband, also he was so lucky to have such a wonderful person as you for his wife. You both together made the perfect family.
I was very sad to hear about this accident but then I started to think over all the years of his friendship and I have so many great memories together with him. I could write many pages but let me share the most fun I had with Dave.
I had a boat and loved to water ski and talking with Dave found he loved to ski too. We decided to go to Lake Thonotosassa to ski as we did that several times. He knew how to bare foot ski but the boat had to be fast, we decided that mine might be just fast enough. Of course it was just a little slow, but Dave tried very hard to do it and he crashed every time, and I mean hard face first in the water. It was so funny and we laughed about it. The last time we skied together we went out and I had spent 8 months recovering from being hurt and I told him that I was going to take it easy. I guess it was payback for me laughing so much at him crashing that when I made a hard turn on the ski and my ski fell apart and I had the worst crash ever skiing, I was okay and we laughed about that. Good times for sure and I was so fortunate to be able to call him my friend and him feel the same for me.
Judy, keep the faith and sometime in the future you will be reunited with him and be together forever.
Your and Dave’s friend forever, Joe Rhoades
